UP24 Infusion Type Polyester Resin

General Features

Infusion Type Polyester Resin; It is an unsaturated polyester resin composed of orthophthalic acid/DCPD mixture. Industrial parts, composite parts for the marine and automotive sectors can be produced with this resin, which has easy wetting and controlled curing properties. It has been specially developed for vacuum infusion, vacuum bagging and L-RTM applications, which are closed molding production methods. It has medium reactivity and low viscosity and can be adjusted in different gel times according to demand.

"Infusion Type Polyester Resin" is cured at room temperature by adding "Accelerator (Cobalt Octoate)" and "Catalyst (MEK Peroxide)".

Use

Safety- When working with resin, take your personal safety precautions in a well-ventilated environment. If necessary, wear a mask and be sure to use suitable gloves. Wear eye protection goggles.

Accelerator Ratio (0.2%)- You should use 2 g of "Accelerator (Cobalt Octoate, 6% solution)" for every 1 kg of " Resin". Since the dosage is sensitive, it is recommended to use a precision scale or kitchen scale. To add accelerator to the resin, you can easily use an injector with the needle removed or a pasteur pipette.

Important - "Catalyst (MEK-P)" must be added in order for the curing reaction of polyester resins to start. Adding "Accelerator (Cobalt Octoate)" alone does not initiate the reaction. Accelerator and catalyst react violently when mixed externally, so they must be added separately into the resin (it is recommended to add the accelerator (Cobalt Octoate) first and then the catalyst (MEK-P)). Special attention should be paid to this issue!
